The cottage we stayed in (Seascape) was very spacious but quite dated and I found it to be pretty grubby. Whilst it looked like it had been cleaned, it certainly wasn't up to my standards (i.e. very dirty flyscreens, window sills etc), however this was fine for our 1 night stay.

The whole tone of the email was extremely rude and accusatory and I was quite shocked by this after our lovely time there. The underlying inference of the email was that I was trying to rip them off, both in the accommodation charge and for the cards.

However, our odd experience started after our stay. Despite the dirtiness we left feeling very happy and ready to recommend it to others. Upon arriving at our ultimate destination I realised I had left a couple of items in the fridge. I logged into my email to ask the owners if we could collect the items on our way back and was surprised to find an email from them.

First of all, arriving at Sacred Mountain we were blown away by the beautiful setting of the cottages and the gorgeous views. The place was exceptionally peaceful and tranquil and we felt instantly relaxed.

I replied to them stating I wasn't sure what an extra charge for my son would be for given he slept in our bed and had his own towel and food. I also informed them that had I known the cards were damaged, and had I been aware that they were actually for sale, I would have offered the money to them, no hesitation, without them having to ask me for it.

We love it, it's out of this world. Can't believe we found this treasure. This is definitely our most favourite place so far on our travels, the room was luxurious and of a very high standard of cleanliness and appointed beautifully. The fittings are superb with every detail in place and with added personal touches that make it perfect. The hosts are lovely, Tony delivered our breakfast each morning, and shared his local knowledge of great surf spots and places of interest for us to visit. The food was fantastic too, we had a seafood platter banquet to celebrate our anniversary, it was huge with lobster and home made desert afterward. We couldn't finish all our meal but I'm still dreaming of it. Everything about this place was perfect, we're coming back for sure and definitely having the Seafood platter again.

I received absolutely no response from them - no explanation of why on earth they would have charged me for a third person for a 1 year old and no explanation of what the supposed damage to the cards had been.

Beautiful location and accommodation. Picked fresh pomegranates, rambutans, and starfruit from the tree for breakfast. Amazing friendly hosts. We went to check out and say goodbye and ended up chatting for over an hour. Will be back again.

To be publicly accused of lying about something which I can very easily prove I did not lie about (a birth certificate) is astoundingly rude and innappropriate.

The email was complaining that I had not informed them we "were actually a party of 3" and that I should have told them as they usually charge $40 a night for an extra guest. Never before have I come across accommodation where I was required to pay extra for my 1 year old son who slept in our bed and did not require extra bedding or breakfast provisions. I honestly didnt believe I needed to specifically mention him as there was not a section in the booking form for infants.

What an absolutely beautiful place! STUNNING! You can not put a price on the personal touch. Eco friendly, outstanding personal service and a delightful place to stay. Extremely private. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

All in all, this was handled terribly by the owners. All they had to was ask me the age of my son and mention that older children needed to be paid for. We could have cleared it up very quickly that my son was in fact 1 and as such, wasn't required to pay extra.

They went on to say that my son damaged a pack of cards. I recall moving the cards and anthing else I thought he might be able to damage out of his reach as I always do, and I do not recall any damage to them in the slightest. Apparently they were for sale, although this was not advertised anywhere, and we were then charged for the cards due to the "damage" my son supposedly did ($15 for a pack of cards!).

And as for the damage - well, given they never actually told me what the supposed "damage" was, one can only assume this was made up.

Imagine my surprise then, when I found a response from the owners to my review on Trip Advisor. Their response states that they do not charge for infants and then accused us of lying about my son's age! My son is very tall for his age, however that is quite obvious when you look at my husband who is 6ft5in. They also accused us of being embarrassed about being "discovered" declaring less people than were actually staying. I was hardly "discovered" doing anything - I drove up to the house to collect the keys, and quite happily introduced my son to them. This is not the behaviour of someone who is trying to "hide" an extra person!
